4 months until 2009. Already dangit.

I wonder where 2009 will take us. (for starters I can hardly believe that 2009 is almost here.) Once May hits, Zac will be done with his certificate studies and can actually call himself "welder". HOwever he wants to get his AA in welding, which would require another year of school whether taken during the normal school year or during the summer. And the second year he can take anywhere he wants because the classes he would need are just like the English 101 & 102, Math and ect.

I dont know where God will put us in 2009... I will be content wherever He places us. Although yesterday in my daydreamy state, googled the places where Ive heard there are welding jobs.(Perhaps a bit sterotypical) I looked in the Dakotas, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota... I've never ever had any desire to live in the midwest though. I have always lived either near an ocean or in the mountains. But even if God decides to place us in Alabama or somewhere down there, I will be ok for it would be His will. I would have to get ahold of Anna of Maidens of Worth so she can tell us what are the nice parts of Alabama.

As much as I am antsy to know what is going to happen, it is soooo much easier to let God take His time with us rather than carry the stress of worrying about finding a job, where do we live, so on and so forth. I am so thankful He is there to guide us down His direct path and that we are not alone in our wanderings.
Wherever we go, I would want lots of rain! And lots of trees. And preferably mountains, or large hills. Canada would be cool... expensive, but cool. Alaska would be the ultimate though. Zac would be the happiest there, but we will see. For now we are just enjoying our time in Southeast Boise, tucked away in our little neck of Parkcenter. And I cant tell you how excited I am for Thanksgiving and Christmas!!! My favorite times of the year. Perfect weather, spices, hot food, hot cider, warm cozy atmospheres, sweaters & scarves, football games.... I could go on forever. Gives me the warm fuzzies! I should get back to work before my imagination takes over too much.

Please read this poem, It is really good from a Christian perspective

In our Sunday School class today, we received a poem. It touched my heart and soul completely to the point of a feeling of warm fuzzies. This poem is something that we as Christians need to keep in mind as we go about our lives and sharing the Gospel of Christ, especially for our youth. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.

The Bridge Builder
by William Allen Dromgoole

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.

The old man crossed in the twilight dim,
The sullen stream had no fears for him,
But he turned when safe on the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting your strength with building here,
Your journey will end with the ending day,
You never again must pass this way;

"You have crossed a chasm, deep and wide--
Why build you a bridge at the eventide?"
The builder lifted his old gray head:
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,

"There followeth after me today,
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me,
To that fair-haired youth may pitfall be.

"He too must cross in the twilight dim,
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

I get goosebumps every time I read this.

I love my fellow bloggers.

In this time of "trial" that I am weathering... It is so nice and encouraging to have a support system of such wonderful people. I've gotten a few comments and plenty of emails with prayers and support and I just want you all to know how much I really really really appreciate all of you!

Things are looking up... I had an interview this morning for a distribution company... they want me to come back for a second interview next week, but it sounded like they wanted me...
I also qualified for a few jobs in Salt Lake City which would finally get us financially stable, but I am going through a screening process so I am trying to not get my hopes up.

My husband has been a great support for those intermittant "worthless" moments.. I know I'm not but its a wierd feeling getting up in the morning after 6 years of doing the same thing and realize you're not needed at that place anymore. Its felt like Saturday for like 3 days now!!

So for now I am applying like crazy all over Nampa and in the meantime going to work helping my husband with the Lawn business. (I have a new appreciation for him now... my arms and back are sooooooo sore!!!)

So thank you everyone for your support and kind words and ofcourse your prayers. You're all little angels to me :)

Midday delight

This hit the spot:

1 toasted eggo waffle
Hickory Farms Apple Cinnamon Jelly
Butter

Put as much butter and jelly on as you please and chow down. I think what makes it special is the Apple Cinnamon Jelly. Gives just the right "Christmasy".

Warm Fuzzies

I am calm. It is overcast and damp. There is little wind this morning. Reminds me of Alaska. The good side of Alaska, not the stress it is giving me. It reminds me of the last time Zac and I went and we both woke up at 3:30 in the morning and since it doesnt get very dark, decided to get up and take a walk around the quiet town. We walked and went and got hot chocolate with cinnamon and big, hot cinnamon rolls at 5 am. It is those moments that bring me peace and fill me with warm fuzzies.

I've always wanted a big, new farmhouse with a wrap around porch in the shadow of mountains or foothills, with a white fence and lots of aspen and maple trees. We would be a white fenced drive off the road, with lamp lights on either side mingled with the trees. To the right of the house would be the barn and the horses and to the left of the house would be my apple and pear trees and my garden. We'd have two dogs, labs or something, and a few cats and maybe a couple kittens. It would be beautiful in the fall when it is slowly closing in on winter, and Zac and our children could come in from playing and working outside for homemade mulled spiced cider and a hot apple pie just pulled out of the oven that I had spent the late morning fixing. I can just imagine what Thanksgiving would be like. I think I imagine this place in Wyoming or even South Dakota. Somewhere where winter gets snow, fall is crisp, and spring never really turns into summer. I could bake to my little hearts content, and it would be quiet and peaceful. Fall football games in the yard would be a family affair and taking the horses out riding in the snow covered fields just because we could would be fun. The kids would be able to walk down to the end of the drive to catch the school bus, and I could enjoy a hot cup of tea before getting my day started. Christmas would be a flurry of baking and eating, I'd have a big enough kitchen to fit my family. Sundays would be a day of church and just family time spent together. Early in the mornings would be spent on the porch with a hot cup of something with my husband, watching the sunrise over the treetops.
I know this will only ever be just a wish and a daydream, but I think I can make Alaska feel the same way. Your home is only worth what you put into it, so I know that it doesn't matter where you live... at the risk of sounding cliche... home is where your heart and family is. (are?)
