Adventures

So I betcha wonderin where I've been.... well... ahem... Ive been having wonderous, exciting adventures! Ya know the kind that leave your butt and calves soooo dang sore you think they will fall off? Ya. Friday we went up to Molton Falls, (our new fave place) and went hiking. Uphill. I'll tell ya thats the best exercise a prego woman can get!! Heres some pics:

We hiked about 7-8 miles... was absolutley beautiful! I love hiking :)  Saturday, we decided to drive up to the Ape Caves...hehe... well only
to find out that there is still 5 feet of snow EVERYWHERE! We so would have trekked around if we had snowshoes. Once again, it was beautiful. There was a small boardwalk trail that took us around a bit that we went on. There were other trails but they were covered with snow and there were HUGE holes (see photob below) in the ground that we just didnt want to misstep into. Aparently those holes used to be trees a thousand years ago, b
ut Mount St. Helens  (which is right next to where we were) took care of them and left holes. Weird phenomena.

So since the Ape Caves were a bust, we decided to Hey lets go to Olympia! (1.5 hours away) So we drove up, a very pretty drive by the way, and a nice straight shot up I-5. We got there about 2 or so, and we timed the weekend right because apparently Friday was Earth Day (who knew?) so there was a huge art/hippie fest right in the middle of town. We first went up to Pierce Point Park and toodled around (by toodling, I mean hiking) on thier trails, then we went to town. As night fell the streets got more filled and things were happening. There were so many bands!!! So many. We decided to go the gourmet route and dine at the BEST hotdog stand ever. Well, I
got a hot dog (which later gave me heartburn, but water gives me heartburn so whatever) and Zac got a pulled pork sandwich. (I cant stomach BBQ sauce at this point.) We stayed until about 10:30 and joined in the Luminescence Parade, which was pretty fun. Then we decided, heck were here, so we found the cleanest Motel 6 I've ever seen and stayed the night. Then went back for more hiking in the early afternoon after breakfast. We were going to stay for the rest of the day, but it was raining and,.... if you scroll down, you will see that I was lacking footwear. While hiking that morning, we found a break in the trail that went through where the ocean normally is at high tide. Wll it was low tide so it was one giant mudflat.. hehe... guess who sank a bit. Oh and Zac? Not a spec of mud on him. I dont get it.

Weekend trip

This little guy was at the Portland Zoo, just looking around at something that was teasing him. I think I'd call him Lou if he were mine.  After church we went to the Zoo since it was REALLY nice (read: HOT) The zoo was enormous and wore us out completely. Thank goodness for Icees.

We had to park about 2 miles away and walk. Uphill. However the 2nd photo is what we had to walk through. It was really pretty.

Saturday was a busy day too. We had fun this weekend! We are enjoying the warm weather and going out to do things. This weekend is supposed to rain though. Quite a bit Ive heard.
We find out what Baby X is on May 4th, Im way too excited! So far it doesnt seem like Ive got much time for a post, I have to go get dinner started, but I will be back with something interesting sometime.

Short post.

It is a beautiful day out! Its also 10:30 already and my other half is still in bed. I am currently enjoying my breakfast and tea and thanking the Lord for His hand in my life. My hours got cut at work, meaning I will only be working Mon-Wed. (YAY!!!) I am so thrilled with that schedule, mostly because that means that my house will be clean once more! Not to mention I will get to work out in the daytime, and all the things that need to be done will get done. I am very pleased.
Not to mention its getting harder to bend over and my back is starting to hurt more and more.

Looks like we are headed home in June! (Yay again!) I am so excited to see everyone again, especially my little furry schmoo-kitty. And I will get to see my sister, since she will be on summer break. Ohhhh... and dads cooking!!!

Ok this is being cut short. See you later.

Easter is here tomorrow

Easter is here in a day, and this is the first year I'm breaking tradition in 23 years or so. Traditionally, it would be my parents, my sis and I, grampa chuck and grama, or grampa chuck and bev (depending on what era you talk about), occasionally my aunt Tami whenever she lived nearby and my husband (in the most recent years) would go out to brunch on Easter morning. We would all get dressed up in our Sunday best, my sister and I would have new Easter outfits, and we would head to Shilo (in the early years) or Elmers (later on) for Easter buffet. There is nothing I enjoy more on Easter than to go to brunch with all my family. We'd spend a few hours talking and eating and then head back to the house, because the Easter Bunny came. Yes, even up until last year, the easter bunny still came.  And then the Easter stock market was open for business. My sister and I would do a fast paced trade for jellybeans vs. chocolate eggs. I didnt like some jelly beans and vice versa. Last year hubs got into it too.  And mom would eat the ears off our chocolate bunnies. (Mom tax.)

This year, we are away from family, and starting our own. So we are going to the Easter Service at our church, and then I will make Easter dinner.  For two people, it will be ok. I will re-start the tradition when Baby X is 2 or 3. So I have a few years or non-tradition. Oh well. As long as I get my deviled eggs and sausage, fine.

Easter is a very uplifting time of year anyways, He has risen giving hope and light to the world, and we have many things to be thankful for. Hope you all have a wonderful Easter day.

A good quote about playing God..

"The human body comes with a marvelous ability to regulate its own appetites. Then we muck it all up with our ideas of what it should look like." - Harriet Brown
